From October 27 to 29, 2026, the SAP Academic Community Conference EMEA 2026 took place at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, Hungary. The international conference brought together educators, researchers, and representatives of the SAP community to discuss current developments in academic SAP education and new opportunities for collaboration. Pouyan Khatami attended the event on behalf of erp4students and Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences. One of the main focuses of this year's conference was the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in business processes and higher education. Particular attention was given to intelligent AI agents (Agentic AI) that can independently perform tasks and support business processes. An interactive Agent Lab provided participants with opportunities to explore these technologies and their potential applications.
The conference also addressed recent developments in Business Process Management, Data Science & Analytics, and Application Development. Discussions explored how emerging technologies and practice-oriented learning opportunities can be integrated into university curricula and which skills students need to prepare for their future careers.
In addition to presentations and workshops, the SAP Academic Community Conference offered numerous opportunities for international networking. Collaboration between universities, SAP University Alliances, and other members of the SAP ecosystem plays an important role in continuously improving academic education and aligning it more closely with real-world business requirements.
For erp4students and Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, attending the conference provided an opportunity to follow the latest developments within the international SAP community and gain new perspectives on practice-oriented SAP education.
